Ours Magazine

Ours is a limited run Queer poetry magazine, consisting of four issues themed on time of day: Dawn, Midday, Dusk, and Midnight.

Household Objects

Ours' visual system is centered on dynamic household objects, used as organic patterns, standalone symbols, or image frames. Each patten is based on a core theme of poetry, and paired with poems matching its theme.

The system derives different versions of the same five objects through rotating 3D models and flattening chosen angles, creating variety yet maintaining consistency.

Through their simplicity and familiarity, objects welcome readers into an intimate physical and digital space, reconstructing percieved notions of poetry as pretentious or abstract.

Time of Day

Issues span the course of a day, bringing temporal depth to the space implied by objects. The four magazines utilize color palettes, imagery, and poetry relating to their themes, anchoring their content to concepts relatable but broad.
