THE ASK:
Lead the development of the next issue of Emic Anthropology Magazine, themed on "Cosmosis."
THE ANSWER:
A magazine taking the reader on a journey across space, time, and human knowledge. To accomplish this, I created the magazine's style guide, cover art, two-page themed spreads, and section dividers, along with assisting with internal pages as needed. Cosmosis and additional issues can be viewed here.

Cosmosis was framed as a journey through the galaxy, from the known to the unknown. We began on earth with a graphic of a person looking to the stars, the way humans have done for hundreds of years. As the reader moves through the magazine, they are guided by a "road map" header positioning them in their journey.
Cosmosis closes while looking toward the unknown. The reader has traveled from our Earth to the edge of the universe, and this graphic is meant to inspire within them a spirit of curiosity that extends past the reading of our magazine.

I worked on additional pages as needed to help the rest of our design team. The top left was an interview with a design historian, the top right an Autoethnography about the writer's experience with Endometriosis, and the bottom left a poem and a section divider. We decided to use section dividers in addition to the road map to give the reader the experience of visually stepping into a new space.
