Modular Typeface & Zine / 2025

I conceptualized a modular typeface highlighting Queer designers and conributed to a group zine presenting my peers and I's typefaces.

Typeface

Butch is a typeface using the metaphor of a grid to emphasize the "building blocks" we rest upon as graphic designers. Butch is formed by ten unique blocks, each representing a Queer woman influential to the world of graphic design, from historical figures to young and upcoming designers.

Collective Zine

As part of this project, my cohort collectively designed a zine showcasing each student's typeface.

I was in charge of creating the inner page template, where I used a grid system with a strong textual hieracrhy to create visual interest. The viewer's eye is immediately drawn to the large drop cap and led into the typeface's name and info. If this interests them, they can then view individual characters in an organized grid.
